The struggle in the neighbourhood of Hankow continues, and, judging by the latest reports, there is likely to be serious happen- ings within the city unless the unruly elements are effectively. curbed.
There is now, it appears, some likelihood of the much discussed Fourth Kuomintang Conference being held shortly at Shanghai, in which city quite a large number of Kuomintang leaders has zow gathered.

Chiang Kai Shek, having returned to Shanghai, is busily a declara- engaged in writing what the vernacular papers call tion." From what is mentioned, it is evidently intended to be an appeal to the Kuomintang Party. Marshal Chiang, it appears, is not yet certain whether he will attend the Kuomintang Conference - or resume his former position in the Party.
