YESTERDAY'S FREIGHT DAILY WATERFRONT NEWS.
RETURNS.
UNUSUALLY HEAVY THROUGH CARGOES.
NINETEEN ARRIVALS.
The returns made by nineteen steamers arriving here during, the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday showed an unusually heavy amount of freights for ports beyond Hong
Kong. Cargoes for the Colony were also heavy.
Eighteen vessels discharged bare yesterday and the total amount of general merchandise unloaded was 95.328 cons. Of these, 9,107 tons were contributed by six British ships.

The two best returns were shown hy the ss. Hermes and the Apocy. The former vessel arriving from Balikpapan had 4,700 tons, and the latter steamer from Bangkok - was responsible for 3,500 tons.
Through freights, although mani. fested on thirteen steamers, wore on the whistle to warn the dredging Flotila which was in
exceptionally heavy. There were no less than 43,486 tons carried to ports beyond the Colony. Of these, there were 3,497 tons accounted for by four British ressols
Most of the vessels were carryIDE a four-fxure tonnage, but the two outstanding carriers were the Hessen (German) and the Hakodate Maru. The frat named steamer came in from Singapore and bad on board 8,823 tons of freights. 'The

It is hereby notified that on and after Saturday, October 1st, 1927, dredging operations will be carried out of Tsim-sha-taui, Kowloon Point.
Two timber dolphins marked by lights by night will be contructed red flags by day and red fixed approximately 500 yards and 1,000 yards respectively to the westward of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Wharf and Godown Co.'s No. Fier and will form a danger to navigation.
