Armed robberies have of late become daily occurrences. At Kiu Mow Dee many such robberies have taken place in the past 10 days and the police have not solved any of

3. That more soldiers and police be posted on busy thoroughfares and on the boundaries of the Settle

ment."

The Chief of Police has requested the Acting Mayor of Chinese Shanghai to raise funds for the purpose of arming all police on "duty.—Shanghai Times.
