"THE PRIDE OF DETROIT" REACHES

HONG KONG YESTERDAY AFTERNOON.

SPLENDID PROGRESS BEING MADE IN ROUND. THE WORLD FLIGHT,

ATTEMPTING TO ENCIRCLE GLOBE IN TWENTY- TWO DAYS.

NO MISHAP SO FAR:

The "Pride of Detroit piloted by the two American aviators, Mr. William Brock and Mr. Edward Schlee, who are attempting to circle the world in twenty-two days, arrived here yesterday after-

They made a perfect handag at El Tak Royal Air Force Aerodroms at 3.25, having came into sight at 3.15. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in a thorough overhaul, cleaning and adjustment of the maching, special attention being paid to the cylinders.

The intrepid airmen hava now covered some 11,000 miles of their long fight in thirteen days, without accident, and they have approximately another 8,000 miles to fly in the remaining nine daya at their disposal. They were scheduled to hop off" from here this morning at daybreak, approximately at 5.30 a.m., and intend to be on the dying ground at 3 a.m.

Their next stop is Shanghal. From there they go on to Tokyo, and from thence make for the Midway Islands, the longest remain- ing stretch, except cna of about the same distance. Then they make for Honolulu, and "from there on the last lap of over 2,000 miles to San Francisco.

Their fight has been devoid of any accidents, the engine has behaved beautifully, and gas and oil has held out and served wonderhilly well. With a bit of goed luck on the last stages, they should reach the United States within the stipulated time.

During yesterday afternoon. H.. the Government (Si: Decl Clementi, E.,M.G) and Lady Clementi paid a visit to the aero- droma, where the aviators were busy working on their machine. AWAITING THE FLIERS.

The intention of the aviators is to break the record established two years ago, by two other Americans who travelled round the world by steamer and actoplane in 28 days, and they hope to complete the fight within 22 days of getting cut.
