The total mileage up to last Of the original seven night, covered by the vehicle was 59,116. tyres, three are still in me, although they have not all bea running the whole of the time.

The average distance covered is over 40,500 miles per cover; and, as three of the covers are still running, we are expecting an aveisge milenge of between 44,000 and 45,000 miles per cover.

In connection with the Internat tional Conference of the Press just concluded in London, a party of delegates, numbering over 200, and including representatives of over 20 nationalities, journeyed to Bir mingham at the invitation of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ld, to visit the works at Fors Dunlop states the Financial News. Split into partion of convenient size, the visitors, under expert guidance, made a complete tour of the works, and witnessed the whole of the pro- cesses involved in the production of a tyre from the raw material to the nished product.

A car tyre is such a commonplace item of equipment that really few motorists give a thought as to how it came into being. Yet the story is very instructive.

Indeed, the Press Conference delegates, al though a large proportion of them could have understood but little of the cral explanations of the guides, displayed the keenest interest in all they saw.
