While the Dominions are paying attention to the need of restocking their depleted forests with young trees, Fiji is also realising the necessity of looking to the future.
A forestry expert, Mr. J. Mead, lent to the Fiji Government by the authorities of the East Indies, fa now, working over the forest lands of the Colony with a view to re porting on means to conserve and replenish timber supplies.
A recent visitor, Mr. Cornwall, proprietor of timber journal. printed in Portland, Oregon, speaks in warm terms of the Fiji wonds,. but points out two main drawhacks
