We learn that consigaments of con ordered for Chinking and Wuha have been stopped this week owing to the boycott. These were to be shipped on orders received in Shanghai.

Referring to sugar, used so large ly by the restaurants, etc., it was stated that there would be about six months' supply in the Settle ment, but no further orders for the Japanese product were available.

A large consumer of printing paper and just intimated that ao further cargoes were to be import ed on his behalf from Japan, as he feared any action which the boy cutters might take as a result of inquiry.

In other directions the

same paralysing influences are at work, even cotton yarn from Japan being denied safe and admission as here- tufore.
