NAVAL AND MILI- TARY FOOTBALL.
QUEEN'S BAND OBLIGES AFTERWARDS.
REAR-ADMIRAL BOYLE'S
CONGRATULATIONS.
Sailors and soldiers are a hardy race, and if anyone doubts this they should have been on the football ground inside the Naval Yard lost evening, adjoining the Prince of Wales' Gate entrance, where a foot ball match was played between team from H.M.S. Frobisher, fag- ship of the let Cruiser Squadron and a team from the Queen's Own Regiment, atationed at Wellington Barracks.
It makes one perspire even to. think of football in weather like yesterday, but the players acemed quite unconcerned with ether tem- perature or humidity which was quite bad enough even at 3 p.m.. and they thoroughly enjoyed their game, into which they put as much energy as if it had been Christmas instead of midsumuner.
The army proved the better side, and won by three goals to one goal. An interesting event at the con- clusion of the game was the play- ing for nearly an hour of the Queen's Drum, Bugle und - Fife baud, which was particularly up- preciated by the many service men présent.
