Yesterday's Return. During the 24 hours ending at 9 yesterday there were 21 arrivalk. The local amount of cargo brought into the Colony was 8,897 tons. The best return was that of the Japanese steamer Toyo are from Moji, 3,850 tons of coal, vermicelli and general merchandise. Cargoes for other ports carried upon vessels totalled 25,872 tons, Of this shipments of 6,480, 3,850 and 4,239 were by Japanese vessels. British vessels brought 4,699 tons of general merchandise into Colony.

The return for the twenty-four hours ended at 9 am on Saturday showed inward freight for Hong Kong amounting to 0,077 tous of which 5,079 tone were in British ships, with one vessel of this nationality making a nil entry. Other vessels brought 3,998 tons for this port. The best cargo carriers were one British veasel with 3,565 dons, and que French and one Chi- ese ships with 1,218 tous and 1,900 tons. Through freights totalled 5,552 tous, with 4,438 tons of this in five British ships, and the best 1 returns being 2,000 tons and 1,168 tons. Only one Vessel uf other nationality carried through cargo, this being a French steamer with 1,114 tons.

Special Cargoes.

The beat British cargo for this port was brought by the a.s. Talthy- blue from Tacoma and Miike being 3,866 of general cargo.

The French vessel Albert Sarraut from Saigon brought 1,218 tons of rice, and the Wong Shek Kung (Chinese) 1,900 tons of similar cargo.

For the period under review there were 11 arrivals and 12 departures, under:-British, six arrivals and six departures; French, one arrival and one departure; Chinese, four arrivals and two departures; Dútch, onc departure; Norwegian, two departures.
