This year's tennis tournament under the auspices of the Hong Kong Cricket Club has proved of exceptional interest. The semi- final stage has been reached and the following notes on the players left in the open singles and doubles Championships of the Colony will interest all local exponents of the

Four players remain Open Singles Championship of the Colony, viz. Ng Sza Kwong, H. D. Kamjabo, T. Honda and S. A Rumjahn. There is little doubt that from the form the semi- finalists as shown during the cur- rent tournament that they are the pick of the 54 who originally com peted in this event. The semi Enal matches, which will be played next week, are expected to be the best fer many years and it is extremely difficult to forecase which two will qualify for the Enal.

H. D. Rumjahn meets him in the semi-final. H. D. Rumjahn is the youngest of the four. He won the Open Doubles, in 1924 when he partnered his cousin, O. Rumjaha, who is now figuring prominently in Tientsin. He was champion of the Indian Recreation Club in 1994. He reaches the semi-final for the second time in his career and has shown a great improvement on his last year's form.
