The CHAIRMAN, in presenting the report and accounts for the year, 1926, said: You will see from the Profit and Loss account that we have had to write off a further loss on the contracts with the Hong Kong Government of 843,167.20, in addition to the sum of 9120,874.89

Work in Shanghai. You will observe in the Balance: Sheet an item of $95,000 odd for| works in progress-development of Franki Piling in Shangbai. This represents the cost of transferring Franki Piling equipment and per sonnel to Shanghal and the carrying out of an exhaustive series of tests and demonstrations of the excep tional advantages of our patent system of concrete foundation piling in the dificult ground of Shanghai.
