The only public business before the Sanitary Board meeting yesterday afternoon was the important matter of the report of the Committee appointed to consider the Estimates of the Sanitary Department for the year 1999. The Committee baring in mind the urgent need for economy have decided not to recommend the pro- vision of extra mentirans for conveying york from slaughter house to market but are completing the necessary fleet of motor refuse lorries.
