PRINCE OF WALES IN FRIED

FISH SHOP.

VISIT TO HONTON SLUM.

The Prince of Wales, during a visit to the slums of Hoxton, visited

fried fish shop.

Great secrecy" had been observed about his intentions, ever. to the extent of withdrawing policemen in order not to call attention to the streets that he visited.

In spite of these precautions, hundreds of men and women sur- rounded his motor-car, some of them clambering on the footboards and hanging on the Lack.

Earlier in the day he visited Hackney, where he chatted with Enid Page, the nine-year-old daugh- ter of an ex-service man.

Enid is fascinating child with" laughing blue eyes and curly golden hair.

Highnes, and how are you!" was How do you do, your Royal her greeting as she danced up to the Prince and held out her hand.

I'm very well, and how are

your" replied the Prince, smiling, and he iminediately started chatting to ker.

At a Hospital. .. The Prince's first visit was to High-street, Homerton, to open the reconstructed hospital. Long before he was due to arrive the streets were thronged with sightscers. All

The averages of the University, Civil Service Cricket Club and the Indian Recreation Club players are considerably affected by the withdrawal of the Royal Engineers and, Signala and the figures for the matches in which the Engineers and Signals took part are not included in the list which follows.

In the Second Division the Recreio players have dropped out of the leading positions. In the batting, they have been relegated to the twenties" and only M. F. Pinna comes out better as n result of the last three matches. Pte. Lake, who leads in the bowling, shows still better figures.
