ENTRIES SMALL

LOCAL AND THROUGH

CARGOES LOW.

Only nine vessels arrived here during the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. | on Saturday, and the amount of general merchandise imported into the Colony and manifested for other ports was low.

There were 6,119 tons of general cargo landed here, of which, 9.753 tons were discharged from British bottoms The two best returns were shown by the British steamer. New Mathilde,

from Tourano which brought 1,742 tons, and 1,481 tons from the s. Helikon (Norwegian)" arriving here from Bangkok and Holbow.

although Through freights, amounting to 13,042 tons, were also below the usual average. Of these, British steamers were responsible for 4,568 tons.

The_1.8. Junaterland (German) from Hamburg and Shanghai carri ed the best freight. She had 7,320 tons, and the British steamer fan- tuo, from Yokohama and Shanghai, manifested 2;360 tons.

During the period under review, there were 9 arrivals and 11 depar tures. They were: British, 5 arrivals and € departures; Japui- ese, arrival and 1 departure; Norwegian, 1 arrival and I depar ture; Chinese, 1 arrival and l'de parture, Dutch, I departure; Gor man, 1 arrival and 1 departure..

Vessels in port totalled 60, ol which, 30 were British.

The following were the cargo carriers:

S.S. Muntua (British) from Yoko: hama and Shanghai, 11 tons general for Hong Kong and 2,360 tons for other porta 5.5. Hong Wha (British) from Rangoon and Singapore, 850 tons rice and general for Hong Kong, and 1,300 tons for other ports.
