The nationalities were:-British, 3 arrivals and departures; Japan- ese, arrivals and 4 departures; Norwegian, I arrival and 2 depar tures; Chinese, 1 departure; Dutch, 1 arrival and departures; French, -arrivals and 1 departure; Ger- man, Ideparture; American, 1 departure.

The total number of vessels in port was 59, of which 19 were British.

The following were the cargo carriers :-

When the Empress of Asia sails from here on March 9th, the new schedule comes into fores. It allows for a thirteen -days stay in Van- couver, the vessels reaching that port on Sunday and departing for the East on the following Saturday week.

Amongst the passengers who left by the President Jefferson yesterday were Capt. P. H. Rolfe, Dr. S. S. Strahan and Mr and Mrs. A. C. Hay.
