LOCAL AND THROUGH CARGOES NORMAL

ONLY THREE, BRITISH "

ARRIVALS.

General merchandise, imparted into the Colony and carried for ports beyond Hong Kong during the 24 hours ended at 9 am yes- terday, was normal. Of the 13 vessels which came into port, only

ware British, and the Colony' imports were unloaded from 9 vessels out of the 13 arrivală..

total amount of general cargo landed here was 16,018 tous, of which, 1,876 tonn were from a British bottoms.

The heaviest toanage carried was 7,348 tons by the &« Amazone Maru, from Antwerp and Singapore. The other four figure returns were,re gistered by the Norwegian steamer Prominent and the sa. Toye Maru, The former arriving from Saigon discharged 2,500 tons, and the latter vessel from Saigon 9,000 tons.

Through freights were manifested on 9 vessels which amounted to 13,041 tons, with 2 British steamers contributing 3,562 tona.

The best returns were shown by the German vessel Pfalz, which arrived hore from Bremen and Shanghai with 4,800 tons, and the 8.6. Hu Song (British), from Cal- cutta: and Singapore, 3,447. tom.

The arrivals and departures were:-British, 3 arrivala and 4 de- -partures,Japanese 4 arrivals-and- 2 departures; Norwegian, 2 arrivala. and 1 departure; Chinese, 1 de parture; Dutch, & arrivala; French, i arrival and 1 departure; German, | 1 arrival; American, I departure.
