THROUGH FREIGHTS RETURN TO AVERAGE. LOCAL IMPORTS STILL DOWN.

Out of 11 arrivals, 9 steamers brought freights for the Colony amounting to 7,194 tons, of which,, 2,268 tons were unloaded from 3 British ateamers. The two best returns were on the s.s. itaga Maru, which brought 2,048 tons from Hakata and Kiirun, and the B. & S, as Alangau broughs 1,720 tons from Bangkok and Svatom.
Through cargo was manifested on 7 The total Vesels out of 11 arrivala. tonnage carried by these, vessels was 22.833 tons, of which, 2.206 tons were on British steamers.

The three steamers which carried the loon Wharf.-Messageries Maritimes. Helios, Norwegian str., 1,112 tons, Capt.heaviest freights for ports beyond were 0. 8. Olsea, from Bangkok anu the 3.8. Formosa (Swedish), which had 8.310 tons loaded at Gothenburg and Swatow, with a cargo of rice, lying Singapore, the Dutch vessel femma, ar- at buoy No. C12-Thoresen & Co. Hydrangea, British str.. 501 tona, Capt.riving from Antwerp and Manila, car- "R, Elvidge, from Kwang Chew Wan, ried 6.800 tons and the Cheribon Mara, from Sourabaya and Balikpapan, also with a general cargo, lying at Chiu had 4,497 tons. On Whart.-Chiu On S.S. Co. Mexico Maru, Japanese str., 3,557 tona, Capt. Motoshige, from Moji, which port she left on general cargo, lying at Kowloon Wharf.-O.S.K. Nellore, British str., 1,200 tons. Capt. A. H. Hignett, R.N.R., From: Kobe and Shanghai. The latter port she left on December 18th, with a general eargo, lying at buoy No. Al-Mac kinnon, Mackenzie & Co. Niitaga Maru, Japanese str., 1.25 tons, Capt. H. Ishikawa, from Kiirun, which port she left on December 19th, with a cargo of coal, lying at buoy No. 33.-M.B.K.

SHIPPING NOTES.
For failing to exhibit regulation lights, the master of a trading junk was, fined. 313 or two weeks hard labour by Lieut.- Comdr. G. F. Hole R.N., at the Marine Court yesterday morning.
No deck passengers entered the Colony from the I vessels which came into port during the 24 hours ended at 9 L.M. vesterday.
