the Valley this afternoon as excellent COMMENT ON THE FIXTURES, sport in promised. Spotting winners in not so easy this time as it was at the last meeting. Owners are not deciding until the very last moment as to the dis- position of their ponies. It is just pos sible that these notes may be of some assistance to them in this respect but I trust that they will be still more useful to backers in picking up a few dollars. 1-9.30 p.m.-Glasgow Handicap: “B”

Class: Six Furlongs,

1. Barley Grass

9. Grey Streak. a Demon Boy,

Other ponies going out ate Arabian Parrot, Fireworks, Demon Boy, Bayfield and possibly Blotting Paper. A geod opening fold.

2-Lanark Handicap: Ona Mile. Probable starters: The Geezer, Sep- tember, Beldorney: Star, Rothesay, Sun- burst Kose. If the last named pony goes: ant here he will be 6 lbs, over weight as Dr. Macgowan cannot make 146 lbs.

1. Sunburst Rose

The Geezer...

2. September.

If Sunburst Rose does not go out, The Geezer, September and Rothesay are my fancy...

3.-Class Handicap: "A" Ulass: Six

Furlonga.

Probable startèrs: Home Call, The, Regent, The Sand Piper and The Grome." This should be a good race..

The Gnome.

The Regent.

3. The Saad Piper.

4.-St. Andrew's Stakes: One and a Half Miles.

Probable starters: The Goblin, Grey Knight, Lady Luck, Attaboy.

1. Lady Luck. The Goblin. 3.", Attaboy.

Here is material for a very fine race. 5.-Gorbals Plats: Thres Furlongs. The usual crowd of Polo Ponies will take part in this Race including Rey nolds, Black Mouse, Regent, District Call, Inkpot, Monte Caman, Beynolds should win and Black Mouse and Urgent should take the places. If Mowgli goes out he will be worth backing for a place. This race used to be the pièce de resist ence for backers but it no longer holds much attraction for them. If there were penalties, as I have already suggested, the race would be worth while. As the riders are mostly on the heavy side I would suggest a minimum handicap of 150 lbs. and a maximum of 175 lba Reynalds should carry this latter weight, Black Mouse 165, and Regent 160. This scheme is,, I think, even better than making the race for non-winners only, an 6-Gallowgatu Plate: From the Two Mile Post Unce Round and f: (about One Mile 165 Yards). Probable starters Brigade Call, Dobbio, Gameril, Craigavad.

1. Brigade Call. 2. Doubín:

3. Comeril.

Sunburst Rose may go here instead of in the End races his weight is 162 the. which will suit Fr. Macgowan. He could not, however, hope to win here and would most likely be placed 3rd.

7.-Hong Kong Autumn Champions: ́ One and a Quarter Miles.

1. Saligia.

2 Total Abstinence. 3 Loch Rannoch

Mr. Dyer may not want to send two of his ponies here but this is Loch Ban noch's distance and he will help to make a race of it. There are, moreover, plenty of Jockeys available.

Notes on the Matches. Kowloon are at home to-day to the Hong Kong Club and a fine game is expected. The Club are turning out at full strength and Kowloon will have to go all the way if they wish to take full pointe

The Eowloon team will include Miles and Muir on the left wing, while Esyes will lead the attack. Duncan comes into the eleven at left half, but he will have plenty to do against Howard and Taylor. Caveille will have to be on top of his form to keep out the Club right wing.

Valentine should do "well if he can keep clear of Simos. A very even gone is expected, but the home Olub will start favourites.

At Happy Valley, the Tamar will be out against the K.O.S.B.' The game will be keenly contested and should at: tract a large gate from the Services On present form, the sailors should win. The K.0.8.B.'s made a good show against the Recreio at King's Park last week and may get their first win in the Hong Kong League to-day.

The Police will meet the China Athletic on the Club ground and with their re- arranged side the Police should make a good, Tun for it.
