League commemorated the anniversary | AX, U. & M. Brownboats ...ddy bay,
by the usual wreath laying ceremonies a: the Ceactaph and Wanchai Memorial in the morning, and with a grand Nelson Day Concert at the Queen's Theatre in the evening.
The Concert, it might be added, was a huge success. Every seat in the Theatre was sold, and the receipts from this source, together, with those from the aula of programmes, chocolates, etc., should do much to swell the funds of the local branch of the Navy League, who will
devote them to Navy League Charities, and the fund opened by the Branch for the dependents of those who fell in the service of their fellow countrymen in con- nection with the Warhsien affair, etc.

(the President of the League), and Mr. W. A. Dowley (the Vice-President). Others present were Capt. C. H. Steele (A.D.C. to H.E. the Governor), Rear-Admiral A J. B. Stirling, C.B., Messrs. L. M. White, R. Sutherland, F, A, Perry, and J. H. R.

As stated above, the Nelson Day Con cert given at the Queen's Theatre, was exceedingly well attended. In fact there was a crowded house.
The playing of God Save the King" anaounced the arrival of H. E. the Gover- nor and Lady Clementi at 9:30, and they were accompanied by Capt. C. H. Steele (A.D.C. to His Excellency) and Mr. B. L. Forster (Private Secretary to His Ex- cellency). There were niso present Major-General CC. Luard, C.B., C.M.G. (General Officer Commanding the Forces in China) accompanied by Lieut. H. Q. F. Johnson, his A.D.C., and other officers of the military command; Rear-Admiral A. J. B. Stirling, C.B., R.N., accompani- ed by Paymr.-Lieut. E. D. T. Churcher, and other Naval officers in port. Mem- bers of the Legislative Council and Ex- ecutive Council were also noticed amongst the audience; which also included a very large and representative gathering of prominent local residents and Govern- ment officials.
The Committed of the Hongkong Branch of the Navy League were also present as under:-The Hon. Sir Henry E. Pollock, E.C. (President), Mr. W. A. Dowley (Vice-President), Rear Admiral A J.D. The Mura Shipoff Company, consisting of Miss Mura Shipoff, & danseuse of remarkable talent, Mr. Koka Shipoff, her brother and clever dancing partner, Mme. M. Shipoff-Shumskaya and Mr. A Stern, are now appearing at Singapore, where they have arrived following a successful tour of the Philippines. From the Federated Malay Staten the Company. proceeds to India and then to London.
The programme opened with the march, "Viscount Nelson," played by the Band of the 1st Battalion, the East Surrey Regiment, who were present by the kind permission of Brevet-Colonel F. S. Tobacco Company (China), Ltd., and Montague Bates, C.B. C.M.G., D.S.O.; Nestle and Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk
and officers of the Battalion..
This was followed by the overture "Plymouth Hoe” and then Mr. Ë, A. Green was heard to advantage in W, Anderson's well known stirring song, reminiscent of the good old days," "Drake Goes West." Mrs Bowes-Smith contributing Homing" and the singing" of Leslie Stuart's "Mighty Mother Eng land" by Mr. L. E. Hopking brought the first part of the programme to a close.
During the interval, the band played the following selections:-"The Light ning Switch and the valse "Espana.

An Appeal for Membership. There were no speeches, but during the evening caption slides setting forth in brief the objects of the Navy League, and appealing for increased membership of the local branch were thrown on the screen.
