THE WEEK-END FREIGHT RETURNS.
FAIR CARGOES YESTERDAY.
The week-end freight returns on Satur- day showed that Hongkong cargo was fairly low, while freight for ports beyond Yesterday, was nothing exceptional however, with two more arrivals, an im- provement was shown, Hongkong, cargo increasing by over nine thousand tons, while freight for ports beyond went up by nearly eight thousand tons.
TONNAGE AND NATIONALITIES.
At 9 am on Saturday there were 56 vessels in the harbour, of which 25 were British
Tonnage figures were as under:--Total for Saturday: 99,170 tons; British Fessels: 6,584 tons; Other vessels: 98 tons. Total yesterday: 27,621 tons; Bri tish vessela: 5,347 tons; Other Fessels: 10,474 tons.
At 9 Lm. on Saturday there were 58 vessels in the barbour, of which 25 were British. During the previous twenty- four hours, nine vessels arirved, vis, three British, one French, one German, three Japanese and ons Chinese. The departures during the same period num- bered twenty, viz., ten British, two Japanese, one German, two French, one American, three Japanese and one Nor wegian At 9 am yesterday there were a vessels in the harbour, of which 20 were British. During the twenty-four hours, eleven vessels arrived, previous ris, Ave British, one American, one Dutch, one Norwegian, one Japanese and two Chinese. The departures came to fifteen, viz., nine British, five Japanese
and one Chinese.
