Then unlocking the door, the Rev. Cheung Shing Wo led the congregation in. As they took their seats the organ was played and there was a peal from the Church bells.

The dedicatory service was opened with the singing of a special Hymn written for the occasion, following which, the Rev. H. R. Well, of the London Mission, with which the To Chai Church was affiliated at the beginning, offered a prayer of thanksgiving. The Rev. Lee Shu Kwai read the Scriptures and the Rev. Yung Pak of the Church of Christ at Ladder Street preached the sermon.

The Church Hall was formally opened, by Madame Wu-Ting Fang.

Among the special guests at the open- ing service of the Church who occupied seats on the platform were the Rev. J. Kirk Maconachie, pastor of the Union Church; Mr. Justice J. R. Wood, Dr. B. M. Gibson, Mr. P. Gock Chin, general manager of Wing On Company : Mr. Choy Bo Tin, contractor and builder of the Church; Mr. Fung Yu, and others.
