home Warwickshire won on the first innings against Middiesax.
The scores were:-
Middlesex, 165 and 435 for nine
wickets (declared). Warwickshire 371 and 175 for five
wickets.
In Middlesex's first innings Hewetson took five wickets for 48 runs, whilst their second innings waa noteworthy for the fine score of 191 made by Mann.
For Warwick, Bates made. 141 and Kilner s. In the second innings, Wyatt was top scorer with 88.
KENT. SOMERSET. Playing at Taunton, Kert won easily over Somerset by ten "wickets.
The scores were:-
Somerset, 219 and 279.
Kent, 387 and 95 för no wickets. Earle was the most successful batsman for Somerset, making 60 in the arst
ings and 99 in the second. Freeman did the damage with the ball, taking six wickets for 68 runs in the first innings.
The principal contributors to Kenta' big first innings score were Ashdown 67, Seymour 107 and Knott 117 (not out). White, the Somerset bowler, took seven wickets for 100 runs. In Kent's second knock, Hardings made 58 (not out),

By 187 votes to 173, the Wesleyan Methodist Conference at York adopted a recommendation that women should be made eligible for the ministry of the Wesleyan Church as far as possible on
the same terms as men
The recommendation contained the quali fication that the marriage of a woman minister should be regarded as equivalent to resignation or withdrawal from active ministry.
