I asked for ammonia and bought a bottle of ammonia perfumed with lavender. Of course, it is a little more expensive than the ordinary am- monia and I think the latter would serve the purpose equally well..
We may use bath-salts as a luxury or as a necessity in cases of illness or great fatigue. In the latter cases I could; hardly recommend anything better than ammonia. It makes the water soft and refreshes
If you use ammonia and add to the bath a few drops of your toilette water. You will then have the same result as using
bath-salt.
As a salt for reducing Epson salt is excellent and more effective than the more expensive varieties although ene has to be careful not to use it too tre- quently.

To Whitan Oki Lace.
A sure method of restoring the colour to white crochet or lace that has become, yellow from disuse is to place it in a thick soap-suds to which a little blue has been added. Boil for ten or fifteen minutes, rinse thoroughly, wrap
up in a towel
for a couple of hours and then iron. Treated in this manner, lace articles that have been laid away will look like new. Cleaning Suede Shoes.
The use of petrol and a wire-brush are common methods in cleaning suede shoes. TE the shoes are badly soiled, the result is sometimes patchy. By..the use of a petrol cleaning brush this patchiness is prevented, for the suedo can be brusheil. evenly over the whole surface.
