With six fewer vessels arriving than during the previous twenty-four hours, yesterday's shipping statement, as would be expected, showed a decrease in total freight entered This-decrease, however, applied only to cargo Hongkong, which decreased by over 9,000 tons, whereas freight for ports beyond increased by over 3,000 tons, British vessels, which numbered exactly half the R. Robertson, from Shanghai, with arrivals, again made an excellent show- a general cargo, lying as busy Noing and brought all but 813 tons of the BIS.-B. & S.

The s.8, cungshan, which, 15 Ded- tioned in Tuesday's issue, has been to new owners in Shanghai, proceeded to Taikoo Dock yesterday from her an- chorage at Shamshuipo, Bay, where she has been lying for sometime, past, for the purpose of being scraped" and being put in final repair prior to going to Shangbai. The Henngshan has already undergona repair following her salvage after going aground in the Canton river, but having been laid up for a consider. able period, it is necessary to scrape her and effect-minor-repairs.
