A grim discovery was made at 95-1; Thomson Road, Singapore, 'a few days ago, when the body of a European, named Richter, was found hanging by a strap from the expanded metal of the window
of his room.
The house was occupied as a mess by two other Europeans in addition to the deceased.
Mr Richter, whin was it years of age. and of German nationality, came from Batavia several months ago, seeking journalistic employment, but had been unsuccessful, although he had obtained some work sa a translator.
He was-in-the East before the war as merchant.
