With two more vessels having arrived than on the previous day, yoster day'a shipping statement showed a total increase in freight of 11,068 tons, com pared with the figures for the previous twenty-four hours. Hongkong cargo in- freddypézeromsminga irgi ghi đột British ports "beyond by 9,721 tons. Vessels carried a fair proportion of the freight, both for this and other ports, but by no means the bulk, the largest amounts being carried by vessels of other nationalities.

The number of vessels in "the-harbour at am yesterday was 56, of which

were British. During the previous twenty-four hours fourteen vessels-ar- rived, viz-five: British, two Dutch, one German, three Japanese and three Chinese. The departares over the same perind came to twelve, tione Chinese for Tourane, one British for Manila, one British for Miike, one Chinese for Bengal Mare, Japanese str., 3,231 tons,Hauhoi, one Chinese for Kwang Chow Capt. Meagochi Araki, from Kobe Wan, one Chinese and two. British "fot. and Manila, the latter port she left Amoy, ong Dutch and two Japanese for on June 28th, with hemp and buntai Shanghai and one Chinese for She C hata, lying at buoy No. 42-Nippon Chung. There was only one clearance this bea A Japanese steamer for Singapore.

Of the other vessels 3,041 tons topped the list. With regard to freight for ports beyond. British vessels carried 4.338 tons and vessels of other nationality 29.207 tons. The highest amount in a British steamer was 3,012 tons, and in the other vessels 10,000 tons. in the Franken (the new German vessel of the Nordeutscher Lloyd Line)."
