Since his arrival in Hongkong from Macao he has been staying at a hotel but he made no comment on Canton affairs to any of his friends who called Mr. Foo has a house in Hongkong. As their families, as stated, have now left Canton it is thought the absenco, of Dr. Wu and Mr. Foo may be of considerable duration.

MR. SUN FO.

Mr. Sun Fo, sep of the late Dr. Sua Yat Sen who is regarded as the head of the Prince Party, is still communicating. with General Chiang Kai Shek regarding the release of Mr. Wu To Chen. It in generally reported that Mr. Sun. Fo's actual, whereabouts in the City are only known to a few close friends, although it is not believed that General Chiang would moldest, the only son of the founder of the Kuomintang.

FOREIGNERS' OPINION.

Foreigners who have been for many years in Canton are pessimistic regarding the future, and consider that M. Borodin and the extremist labour leaders are work. although Mr. Foo has not resigned his ofice it is expected that he will remain away until the situation becomes a little clearer. When opportunity offers he will make an effort to end the boycott but it would be a mistake to suppose that he is here in an official capacity for that
