The County cricket programine at home is now in full swing, and'nt the week-end spectators all over the coun try were treated to really good ericket. The feature of the matches was the high scoring all round.
MIDDLESEX RECOVER AND WIN
LONDON, May 5th, Facing the necessity of scoring 368 in the fourth innings against Sussex at Lord's Middlesex undaunted by Maurice | Tate's sensational first innings figures, staged a remarkable recovery, and won eventually with five wickets to spare.

There was no outstanding performance in either Sussex innings, but Tate bowled splendidly when Middlesex replied to the first innings total, and his nine wickets were secured at a cost of 1 runs, less than eight apiece.
Jack Hearne and, the Hon. C. N. Bruce laid the foundation for the big Middlesex second innings more with 83 and 73 respectively, and Hendren scoring brilliantly all round the wicket tallied

A. W. Carr and George Guna scored nearly three hundred between them in the Nottinghamshire second innings, against Surrey at Nottingham, but the declara tion came too late and the southern coun- ty gained first innings points.
