STRIKE PICKETS AND THE POLICE.
HOW THE NEW ORDER WORKS. (FROM OUR CHINESE CORRESPONDENT.}
As announced recently the Kuomintang issued an order that the Striko pickets should not arrest' any person without the co-operation of the police in the city or the troops in the country. This order is apparently being obeyed.
On May 4th the 3rd Company of Pickets raided the Tung On Boarding.
House, alleging that it was harbouring persons desirous of leaving Canton for Hongkong. Four women were taken into "custody by the Police at the instance of the pickets and were later surrendered to the "Cours" of the Strike Committee at East Garden.
PICKETS' FLEET. The Strike Committee has now or ganized a pickota' fleet of 11 vessels. Each vessel has been painted gray sad Kuomintang insignis will be inscribed on the right and left sides of the funnel. The colour of the fags used will be red with characters written in yellow and white.
