PROGRESS ON PEAK PROPERTY, The first ordinary yearly meeting of shareholders of the Rural Land Invest- ment Co. Ltd., was held at the offices of the Company, Auntie Building, yester day at 12 noon, for the purpose of receiv ing the Report of the Directors and a Statement of Accounts for the year ended December 31st, 1923.

The Statement of Accounts as sub- "mitted, showed a loss on the year of 891.80, which it was proposed to carry forward to 1996.

Mr. Fred Ellis Managing Director) presided, and other Directors present were Messes, Leung Yan Po. F. Ellis and G. K. Hall Brutton, with Mr. H. Stretton Hill (Secretary). The following share- holders were also present:-Mosers. E. of Areulli, J. S. Alvarez, V. Benjamin, L. Young and Miss Sousa.

With reference to Rural Building Lot No. 2437, I have to inform you that owing

to the great amount of granite found on the site, development work has been some. what delayed. The original plans' con- cerning this site did not provide for suit- able approaches to the property and access thereto was rendered very difficult, but an amended plan has been prepared which provides for the construction of a roadway permitting access to the door) ways of the projected houses.

Owing to the difficult financial condi- tions prevailing in the Colony, your Diree- tors have thought it undesirable to pro- ceed further with the development of Rural Building Lota 230 to 233 until such! time as conditions show "some sign of improvement...

I now beg to propose the adoption of the Report and Statement of Accounts as presented, and after this has been second. ed and passed, I shall be glad to answer any questions from shareholders.
