Then, again, attempts have been made in several directions to improve the arrangement of the provisions of the Fost Office law. For example the power to Dow contained make Regulations is wholly in one section-clause 3 of the Bill. In the existing ordinance it is scattered about in four different sections of the ordinante. COMPENSATION.
A vote of $15,278 was required in con- nection with the cancellation of the foundation contract for the proposed new gaol at Ngau Shi Wan.
The sum was required to meet a claim from the contractors consequent upon the decision to suspend the work.
