Yesterday's" total of cargo entered was the largest for some weeks past, but the heaviness was only shown in cargo for ports heyond, that for Hongkong show. ing no exceptional figures. Of the cargo for Hongkong, 2,950 tons was carried in British vessels, with 6,223 brought by other nationalities. The heaviest entry was one of 2,365 tons by an American steamer, while there were three other "entries (two by British vesaria) of over 1,000 "tons each. The remainder of the entries were all under 1,000 tons. cargo for ports beyond, the total was co- siderably increased by an entry of 11,25 tons of petrolite oil by an American steamer: white other entries included 7.250 tons by a British steamer, 5,095 tons also by a British steamer and 9,000 teng by a Dutch arrival, with 4.407 tons by a Japanese vessel.

SHIPPING NOTES.
At the Marine Court yesterday, before Lieut. Commander G. F. Hole, R.N., a trading junk master and a trading junk mistress were each food 85, with the alternative of five days' hard labour, for being outside of more than five, other boats alongside the s.s-Tung On and the sis. Tai Ming respectively,
At the same Court, a junk master was fined $5, or five days' hard aboar in default, for anchoring in the Southern Fairway.
A notice to mariners issued by the Customs authorities at Shanghai and dated March 29th, states that an anchor with 85 feet of chaia attached has been recovered from the bed of the river at a position from which the Quarantine Buoy bears No 60 W (Mag.). The anchor and chain now, lies on the fore. shore of the Customs property at Woo. sung and may be inspected there. If not claimed and salvage is paid within thirty. days.of the date of the above notice, the anchor and chain become the property "of the salvers
