The ss. Francunia left New York on January 11th, taking the eastern route by way of the Mediterranean. Although heavy gales were reported in the Atlantic during January, the Franconia fortunate in experiencing ideal conditions of wind and weather, which have con tinued throughout the voyage until the vessel was outside Hongkong.

"Life on board has been one continuous round of entertainment," said one of the lady passengers yesterday.

is expected to prove a rival to "The Miracle,' which is now running in New York, the joint producers being Mr. Com- stock and Mr. Morris. Guest.

Mr. E. B. Fairchild, son of one of New York's famous newspaper publishers, is among the passengers.

Others are: Professer II. C. Warren, of Princeton University; Hon. John H. Clarke, former Chief Justice of the States Supreme Court; Judge Isaacs, Master in Chancery of the Chicago Superior Court, who is accompanied by Mrs. Isaacs; Mrs. L. Van Rensselaer, a descendant of one of the earliest colonist: to settle in New York.

Dr. Adolp "Stahl, a retired New York millionaire, who made his money selling

pink pills," is also making the trip. England-iepresented by Miss Jessie Sanderson, the first lady to win a point | to point race in Yorkshire, who regrets the Franconia will be leaving before the Fanling Hunt Steeplechases take place; by Dr. W. B. Hodwen, R.C.P., R.C.S.. LS.A., a physician of Gloucester, and author of Impressions of América.'

Last, but by no means. least, must be mentioned M Francis Edwin Druke, a descendant of Sir Francis Drake. He, is one of Cleveland's prominent business- men and is accompanied by Mrs. Drake and their two children.

Mr. F. C. Bargess, acting Agent in Hongkong for Messrs. Thomas Cook & Son, is in charge of local arrangements for the entertainment of the guests while the Franconia is in port.
