There was A gay gathering at the Ladies' Club House, Fanling, on Satur- day, when the successful competitors in recent competitiens of the Royal Hong kong Golf Club (Ladies' Section) were presented with prizes.

Mrs. Walter Lang, the hon. secretary of the Ladies' Section, announced the prize winners.
The Hon. Mr, E. R. Hallifax also con- gratulated the winners,, and compliment cd the Ladies' Section of the Club on, its progress, and the members for their love of the game.
Mrs. E. B. Reed, the Captain of the Club, also spoke, and at the conclusion of the prize distribution, presented Lady Clementi with a bouquet of sweet peas.
Lady Clement, accompanied by some of the members, was later taken around the Cláb-house, a visit being also made to the garden.

WINS TITANIA CUP.
The Royal Naval marathon race at Kow- loon on Saturday afternoon proved a very interesting event, and there was a very good attendance of officers and mes of the China Squadron, present on the United Services Recreation Club ground to witheas the start and finish of what proved to be an excellent race.
The marathon was ran for the Titania Cup, and the race was confined to teams of twelve. The first six members of a team in counted; while the first four

Eleven teams entered, these being from H.MLS. Hawkins, H.M.S. Ambrose and attached Submarines, H.M.S. Vindictive,. H.M.8. Dierbar, M.S. Despatch, B.M.S. Magnolia, M.S. Marzion, H.M.S. Hollyhock, H.M.S. Iroquois, H.M.S. Tamar and H.MS. Titania. "The race was started at five minutes past four and three-quarters of an hour was allowed for finishing the distance of five miles.

COLONY'S 1925 FINANCES. REVENUE BETTER THAN IN 1924.
The Colonial Treasurer's financial state. ment for the mouth of November, pub- shed in the current issue of the Goverment Gazette shows a balance of assets amounting to 810,353,853.72.
The revenue for the month (exclusive of land sales 243,987.66) was $1,315,175.50. In the corresponding month of last year the total revenue was 81,889,311.14, ex- clusive of $9,183.43 from land sales.
