In answer to the foreman, witness said the street was not crowded at the time; there were only a few Chinees about. The motor-lorry stopped after the ec cident.
Similar evidence relative to the no cident was given by an Indian constable who was with deceased at the time. Ho stated that Jaginder Singh was struck ón the head by the lorry and fell between one of the front and rear wheels, the rear wheel passing over his body. Wit ress estimated the speed at which the lorry was travelling to be approximately 20 miles an hour. The lorry, he said, went about 15 yards before it was stopped.
Concluding, Mr. Zeitlyn said that plaintiff was an old man of 84 years of age. and somewhat dead, and the whole transaction was carried out on his behalf by his son.
After evidence was given, His Lordship gave judgment for the amount claimed with costs.
