The shipping statrient for yesterday showed that the total number of vessels

in the harbour at 9 a.m. was 77, of which

33 were British.

The arrivals for the twenty-four hours eaded at 9 am yesterday numbered right, zi.--two British two American, one Dutch, one Japanese and two Chi

The departures for the same period. also numbered right, including three for evast ports.

Of the cargo entered for Hongkong, 2,402 tons were carried by British vessels. Tho bost entries were also by the two British vessels, each enterin over 1,000 tous. Deck passengers entered totalled 1,310, of which 934 were brought by the s.s. Saathi (British) from, Calcutta and Singapore.

The arrivals for the twenty-four hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday were as under: The s.s. Santhic (British) from Calcutta and Singapore with 1,200. tons of gun- zies, rubber, tea, ghee, rice, wax, fodder, pepper and pig iron and mail; the s.. Hymettus (Britiab) from Calcutta and Singapore with 1202 tons of general cargo and mail; the s.s. President Grant (American) from Maniin with 22 tons of hemp rope. 48 tons of Naval supplies, 20 tons of old bones and 11 tána of general cargo (total 10 tons) and mail; the s.a. President Lincoln (American) from Manila with 100 tons of general cargo and minil; the m.s. Geramo (Dutch) ffrom Bremen and Manila with 150 tons of general cargo and mail: the s.8.

·Ceylon Muru (Japanese) from Calcutta and Singapore with 476 tons of general cargo; the sa fiai Wing (Chinese) from Malauchau with no entry and the s... Derwent (Chinese) from Ecocho and Amoy with 50 tons of general cargo and mail

Later arrivals, too late for entry in the above returns, included the 8.8. Katori Maru (Japanese) from Japan with general cargo and mail; the "a.s. Sihhiang and the B. Shangy both" from the North, with general cargo and mail.
