The last time he met Bowles over a rounds, when he won, he had the advantage of 8 lbs. in weight. It remains to be seen whether in ridding himself of this, his strength has been at all affected. Bowles make the weight with ease, and he will be as strong as he ever was. Gardner has not fought more than 6 rounds in the Colony, and at those times he skewed he possessed stamina. But I believe that 13 rounds will weary him somewhat. If the fight goes the full distance he has a chance of winning; but I think that Bowles will lasa no opportunities on this occasion, and win by sheer punching power.

The full programme is as under:- Main Event, fifteen-round contest for the Featherweight Championship of the Colony and the Belt: A.B. Gardaer, H.M.S. Hermes, r. Drummer Bowles, 1st East Surrey Regt.

FOOTBALL

S.C.A.A. SUSPENDED,

As a result of the action of the South China Athletic Association in refusing to ful5, their League engagement with the Police on the Club ground last Satur. day, the Management Committee of the Hongkong Football League have decideu to award, the two League points to the Police and to fine the South China Athletic Association the maximum penalty of 85.

This decision was arrived at daring, a meeting of the Management Committee held on Tuesday evening, and at this meeting a full discussion took place of the general attitude adopted by the South China Athletic Association..

Consequent upon this discussion, it was decided to suspend the South China Athletic Association until such time a it tenders a suitable apology to, the League...

As stated the Chinese 1st XI. refused to turn out on the H.K.F.C. ground at Happy Valley last Saturday to meet the Police in Division 1. of the League, holding that as it was their "home" match they should have been allowed choice of grounds.

This evening the Hongkong Football Association will meet for the purpose of arranging shield competitions, and it is understood that the suspension of the South China A.A. will be reported to this meeting and that the League action in the dispute will probably form a sub- ject for discussion.

The Principals of the school were very grateful to their friends, in England, Australia and elsewhere for their prayers, gifts and interest, niso to their many local helpers, especially Si. They thanked the Rev. C. B. Shann for auditing the accounts, also Dr. Smalley for his bi-annual medical inspection, and kindness to the sick girls who had needed a doctor.
