The issue of August 5th contains the detailed reply by A. G. M. to Wu Hon Man's Manifesto. This reply analyses very fully the various contentions put för- ward by the Bolsheviks in their propaganda, and gives the British point of view. It should be kept on record as it will always be useful for reference

The issue of August 29th contains the full report of the great indignation meeting held at the Theatre Royal, together with the text of the Telegram sent to the Prime Minister.

PERINO, December 9th.. Peking at this moment presents a spoctale which is probably without parallel in recent history-parhaps any history. We are cut off from the world, except by wire and wireless. There are three lines of railway radiating from the capital to Katgan, Hankow, and Tientsin respectively-all are now cut or closed, and oven were the line to Tientsin open, railways running thence north to Mukden and south to Shanghai are also cut. There is a proposal to run "international" train to-day from Tiên. tsin to Peking and back, but in both cases the travellers will be expected only when they are seen.

So far as government is concerned, the last shadow has now disappeared. All the Ministers of Stato hare either fled, resigned, or sent in their resigna- tions. Only three remain even nominally at work, tho: Ministers for Foreign Affairs and the Interior, and Tuan Chi Jui.
