Yesterday's shipping statement show. that the total number of vessels in the harbour at & ath, was 70, of which 28 were British.

During the twenty-four hours ended At 9 a.m. yesterday there were nine arrivals, viz. five British, one French, me Dutch and two Chinese. The de partures numbered thirteen, including three vessels for coast ports (one for Bwatow and two for Amoy); while clearances came to three.
