The shipping statement for yesterday showed that, the total number of vessels in the harbour at 9 a.. was W, of which
1 were British.

For the twenty-four hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday there were ten arrivals, of which six were British, one French, one Spanish, one Japanese and one Chines The departures for the suns period numbered twelve and there wore two vessels with clearance papers in yes terday.
The total amount of cargo entered for Hongkong for the above period was 3,310 tons, as against 3,113 tons for the pre. entered was 14,678 tons and the total of rious twenty-four hours. Through cargo
the combined cargoes was 18.196 tons. Deck passengers carried totalled 9,458, of which 1,053 were brought by the s.s. Santhia from Usaka and Amoy, and 241 by the s.s. Hai thing from Foochow and Amcy.
