The Acting Harbour Master of Can- ton, at the request of the Bureau of Naval Affairs, gives notice that patrol gun-boats are stationed in the vicinity of the mine fields to guide versels, enter- ing or leaving, in safety. II vessels passing Hamun (Boces Tigria) will care- fally follow the guidance of the patrol boats, they can be assured that the vessel and her cargo will be perfectly safe.

Notics has been received by the Acting Harbour Master of Chaton from tha Commissioner of Foreign Affairs na follows:-

Communication in the region of Wangecon and Moto Moon is com pistely stopped and the only channel to Kongicon is the Saiwan Channel vid Second Bar and Human, which channel will be practically in military vigilance beginning from mid-night of October 29th when no vessels will be allovil to pass at night, time." Information has been received from this Commissioner of Customs, Kowloon, to the effect that the above chauuels have den blocked with sunken junks loaded with stone.

SHIPPING OTES.

The shipping statement for yesterday | showed that the total number of vessels in the harbour at 2.m. was 57, of which. 28 were British.

For the 24 hours eaded at 9 am. yer terday there were four arrivals, of which one was British, one American, one Nort wegian, and one Japanese, The depar tures for the same period numberad eight.

The arrivals were the ss Borneo (Br.); from Haiphong, Pakhoi and Hollow: with 2,014 tons of general enrgo and 31 bags of mail; the 1.8. President. Grant (American) from Seattle and Shanghai with 184 tons cotton goods, 275 tons of flour and 530 tons of general cargo and

large mail; the a hut Hamsun (Norwegian) from Shanghai with a nit entry and the ss Anar Marie (Japan es) from Yokohama and Keelung with 518 tons of grieral cargo and mail.
