SEA WATER STAINS. Splashes of sea water leave ugly stains which may become permanent unless they are treated fairly soon. Quite the best plan is to spread the stained part ovor a basin and then pour cold fresh" water, over the mark. This will remove all alt and other matter, and, if the, part in Enally pressed with a moderately at iron run enckling will be loft and the etain will have vanished.
Of course, with delicate silky materials this plan cannot be followed. Here the sea water atsing should be left until they are quite alry. Then the material should be stret- Fahed rather tightly and brushed and Beater with a little switch In this way the salt is removed, Then stenan the apot and finish by pressing, when it will be found that all traces of the stain have disappeared."
When seawater makes white marks on black footwear these can be removed by rubbing with a paste made of black- #lead and lemon juice. · Leave for an hour
or so and then rub gently..
