The real menace in this Colony is the big car. The weight of pleasure vehicles, excluding, of course, the motor-busses, varies from about ten hundredweight up to, say, two and a half tons. It is ob- rious that the small fight car with, at the most, four passengers, is much more easily controlled than the huge seven seaters that so often carry as many as ten or twelve people. These big cars block the roads and make it dificult to see any traffic beyond them.

The system of taxation of cars in this) Colony is wrong. The owner of a ting little car that looks something like, and often called, B perambulator, pays sixteen dollars a year, while the man who can afford to run a huge seven-seater limousine pays only twenty-four dollars. In England the system of taxation is hased on the horse-power of the car. It is admitted that the term "horse-power

Let us beg the Colonial Secretary to take his car up Garden Roall to Seth's corner and along Robinson Road. Ho might suggest that the wall of the Botanical Gardens be pushed back.
