It will be noted that the s.s. Taiyuan, the vessel that will be replaced by the Changte, 'arrived during the week-endl from Australia poris vii Manila on her last trip for the Australian-Oriental Line. The Changte takes her place on the run on Wednesday. when she sails co her maiden trip to Australia vid Manila. During the week-end no less than five vessels departed for, Swatow, which tends to show that owners and agents are hopeful that conditions ate more promising with regard to the ua. loading anti loading of cargo at that port. The vessels departing for Swataw were the E. Glenfaltuek, the E.. Phra nung, the s.s. Vulcanus, the 6.3. Solriken and the as. Hatthing. The last named vessel, is, of course, calling at Swatow any Amoy with and for passengers only, no cargo having been accepted for Swatow at all on this trip. Four vessels also cleared for Kwang Chow Wan, these being the an Sun Zong, the s.s. Pon Sang, the as. Baltreia and the s.s. Nam Ifah
