As previously mentioned in our fast Report, our market has become much quieter and the boom which has been going on for so long seems to be dying out "Several stocks have weakened in consequence.
Latest reports from
from the Straits in- dicate that the Rubber market is still active, and the cabled' quotations given below show that prices have further im- proved.
Banks-Hongkong
and Sharghar Banks continue in demand at 31,225 and Bales made at 81,130 have been reported. The Sterling rate is uraltered at £1. A few P and O. Banks are offering local- ly at £111. Bank of East Asia's have been dealt it at 8971.
Marine and Fire Insurances-Can- tons have further risen and have buyers at $780. Uniona are also in demand and can be placed at 8279. Yangtszes are un- changed at 845 with no sales made. China Underwriters at 83.40 show further risc. Hongkong Fires have changed hands at 8650 and China Fires remain steady at 3000.

Shipping.-Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steamboats have advanced to $301-
"Star Ferries dropped to $83, but are firmer at the close with buyers at this rate. Douglas Steamships re- main weak at 343. Tugs and Lighters are steady at 94.95, at which price busi- ness has resulted.
