The Annual Report of the Hongkong General Chamber of Commerce states:

In spite of exceedingly adverse political conditions in China during 1924 there was again an increase in the total trade of the Colony, imports and exports repre- senting a value of £133,800,000, as 'cotu- pared with 2123,000,000 in 1921 Total imports were worth £79,138,478, an in crease over 1920 of £10,200,000, and ex- ports, at £65,000,000 in round Agures, showed an increase of £9.302.463 over the figure for 10. These facts indicate a considerable, aceumulation of uncicared goods in Hongkong warehouses, and sug- gest the wisdom of a policy of cautions buying during ensuing months.

It is noteworthy that there has been some diversion of cargoes from Canton. due, na doaht, to the unceasing political unrest in the city, Cargo the value
