It should not be difficult for all who have the interests of the country at heart to subscribe to the purpose of the Conference and, if they cannot extend their unqualified approval to the manner of its convocation or to its personnel, they might at least bestow their blessing upon an attempt to heal the nation's ilis and assuage the nation's
sorrows.
