COMING TO FAR EAST.

A communiqué from the Seattle Cham- ber of Commerce informs us that the Commercial Commission which sailed from Seattle on January 27th,, ubourd the President McKinley, is comprised of business men topresentative of industries Lin the United States Pazific Northwest.

This Commission is to visit the prin- cipal ports of Japan, China and the Philippine Islands, for the purpose of ex- pressing the appreciation of the United States Pacific North-west for the benefits

derived from the increased trade with those countries, and to evidence their confidence in the business men of the Fur East.

In addition to the main purpose of this Commission, they will extend to the business men of the Far East an invita- tion to attend the Twelfth Annual Con-¡ vention of the National Foreign Trade Council to be held in Seattle on June 24th, 25th and 28th, 1925. The Conven- tion is open for the first time in its his- tory to delegates from foreign countries and will afford an excellent opportunity to continue the good work of developing better "understanding between the Far East and the United States, which the Seattle Commercial Commission to the Orient hopes to foster on this trip.

The Seattle Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Commercial Commission to the Orient and Capt J. S. Gibson, President of the International Stevedor-

ing Company, is its chairman. Wives of Beveral members will also accompany the Commission. Members of the Commis- sion désire during the brief time at their disposal to cement with A handshake the already established naturally bene ficial relationship between the United States, Seattle and countries of the Far East.
