DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT.

Meters. Benjamin & Potts inform us that a telegram from their Shanghai Office states that The Shanghai Loan and Investment Co., Ltd, has declared a dividend of Tia 0.50 for the year ending December 31st, 1924. The Company will place Tis. 23,000 to General Reserve, leaving a balance of Tla 18,433 to be carried forward.

The Foreign Secretary (Mr Austen Chamberlain), remembering that Mr. Churchill's plan is based on the Balfour Note of 1969, which greatly annoyed Franec, is fearful that the project will endanger the Entente and the peace of Europe.
