Mr. Machin. who introduced the de putation, said that the Chambers of Com- merce were anxious to improve in every DOUGLAS STEAMSHIP COMPANY, possible way the conditions of the work ers in this country, but they were also concerned to protect the interests of the export trade, on which the country so so much depended. He pointed out the dimealties which would arise if legisla tion in regard to hours was not generally adopted by all the countries associated and expressed doubts whether in some countries, the

Convention would be carried out strictly, and in the spirit as well as the letter, even if it were ratified.

The Day of the Knight is Here !
IT IS THE
WILLYS KNIGHT
Simplest and most trouble-free type of motor ever invented,
It has the most distnctive and gracefully balanced body of any car
in he market.
י
1-The Willys-Knight car is the four cylinder motored car that makes the six
annecessary.
The Knight motor is steam prinsipla. The valves are two syndrical sleeves with rectangular slots or parts which when they register with each other and the porta in the block allow the ingress and egress of the gases without obstruction. These wide open passages, particularly the exhaust side, permit a more thorough cleaning of the burat gases from the combustion chamber than any other type of motor, so that every ounce of energy available is utilized from the explosire mixture, which gives us such tramendous power
A
2-It has no valve to grind and no carbon to clean."
"
The combustion chamber is completely surrounded by water sad an alloy piston noted for its grosi bes radiating qualities is used so neither the combustion chamber nor the head of the piston gets hot enough to bake the residue from the exposed gases to form carbon while there is still nongh heat maintained to handle the explosive mixture effectively.
--It is the only type of motor that improves with use.
While carbon can not form in the combustion chamber, still a certain amount of the residue from the barat games works up behind the wide scaling ring in the sylinder head and, as this banding in process obtains, it keeps pushing this scaling ring more tightly against the inner sleeve until it completely seals the compression chamber developing more power with every mile the motor is drawn.
-J
-It is the only type of motor that wears in while other wears out.
1)
All parts in the Willys-Knight, car are assembled with wida' clearancs betarean each other and oil is forced into these clearances under heavy pressure so that the entire asciably is lapping or wearing in on these heavy flms of ail instead of wearing ont. In other words, every bearing in this motor is to cal bearing instead of a metal to metal bearing which is necessary in the construction of a popput valve motor in order to keep it quist with anbaequat quick wear and noise.

There are no hammering parts such sa cams shriking against push rods, push"rod" against valve stems, or valve heads snapping back into their genis through the median of heavy springs, ste.
